Who needs a grill? You can easily make fall apart tender pork country style ribs in the oven. By boiling them first and finishing in the oven, you cut the cooking time in half! Such a great way to serve up ribs to your friends and family, even on a cold and rainy day.

4lbcountry-style pork ribs
1onioncut into slices
5garlic cloveshalved
1teaspoonmixed peppercorns
3bay leaves
3 ½cupbarbecue saucehomemade or store bought

Put ribs in an 8-quart stock pot and add enough water to cover. Add onion, garlic, peppercorns and bay leaves to the ribs.
Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 1 hour.
Remove the ribs and spread in one layer on a baking sheet. Coat ribs all over with barbecue sauce. At this point, the ribs can be refrigerated until you are ready to finish cooking them.
To cook in the oven,preheat oven to 350ºF. Cover ribs on a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour. For last 10 minutes of cooking, remove foil. If you want crunchy ends, sit under the broiler for 3-minutes.

Cooking Tips: You can also use this technique with baby back ribs. Bake for 45 mins. on 350ºF.To cook on the grill, after boiling, cook for approximately 20 minutes over medium heat, turning the ribs frequently. Keep a water bottle handy in case of flare ups from pork drippings. Baste the ribs and continue cooking for 10 more minutes, again continually turning the ribs every few minutes.TO STORE: Store any leftover ribs in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.TO FREEZE: You can also freeze leftovers. We like using our vacuum sealer and place the cooked ribs in freezer safe bags. You can freeze the ribs for 4 months. To reheat, you can use the microwave or bake the thawed ribs at 350° oven for 30-40 minutes.
