Sand Tarts (aka pecan snowball cookies) are easy to make. These classic Christmas cookies are rolled in powdered sugar and have a terrific nutty buttery flavor!

• Pecans
• Butter
• Powdered sugar
• All purpose flour
• Vanilla extract
• Salt

Grind pecans in a food processor until fine crumbs.

Using a stand mixer, hand mixer or wooden spoon mix butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in ground pecans, flour, vanilla and salt until just combined.

Scoop up a tablespoon of dough and roll into balls.
Place on baking sheet and bake at 350F for 20 minutes until golden.

Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar then place cookies on cooling rack to cool completely.

Once cooled you can dust or roll the cookies with more powdered sugar.
