This purple smoothie is packed with the blueberries, cherries and banana kids love and some other “secret” ingredients that the kids won’t even notice! Sponsored by Davidson’s Safest Choice Eggs™.

My kids absolutely adore smoothies. Frankly, so do I! They are easy to whip up, do not require cooking and I can pack in so many good things in each glass and the kids willingly drink it all up. And with so many summer fruits to choose from, the smoothie combinations are endless.
A good friend of mine has a son who is a very picky eater and does not like to bother with eating. He just had his physical and the pediatrician stated that having 15% body fat wasn’t ideal for a growing tween boy.
This mom has spent years trying to get her son to pack on the pounds with little success. Her latest addition to his diet is for him enjoy an afternoon snack of a high protein smoothie.
If you have tried protein powders, you know they come in all flavors and protein types, soy, whey, egg. Honestly, it’s hard to find one that doesn’t leave some sort of after taste and they cost quite a bit of money for a family-sized can.
That’s why I like using eggs in my smoothie – to be specific, pasteurized eggs from Davidson’s Safest Choice Eggs™. There is no risk of getting salmonella poisoning and you get pure, unadulterated protein for your smoothie.
I created this Purple Smoothie and the kids really sucked it all down. They know about the blueberries, cherries, banana and milk, but they don’t know about the egg and kale I snuck inside.
Slurp. Slurp. Yum. Yum.
And because it’s summer, we always make extra smoothies to freeze and make smoothie pops. Add some granola on the bottom and you’ve got a fabulous breakfast on a popsicle stick. And we all know how much kids love to eat their foods on a stick!
Plan ahead and make your smoothie the night before and pop them in the freezer. If you do not have popsicle molds, small disposable cups and plastic spoons work great!

Geez. I was in a hurry and didn’t see that part. Thank you!
Where did you get the beautiful glass for this smoothie?
Thank you
Thank you Debbie! I found this glass at Marshall’s last summer. But I think I saw something similar at Cost Plus World Market.
Hi Debbie-
I just found these same glasses on the One Kings Lane website: https://www.onekingslane.com/product/34956/939612
I remembered your comment and thought you’d be interested in them!
Thanks for remembering that! Not sure if I want to spend 19$ for a glass right now but I will save and think about it.
I don’t get any commission, but just to clarify: it’s for a set of 6 glasses!
I love the idea of freezing the extra smoothie into popsicles! They look amazing! I always sneak Kale into the kids smoothies to.. Can never tell the difference!
Beautiful smoothies! I can see why your kids would be more than willing to slurp them down. I really like that you make extra to turn into “breakfast popsicles” 🙂
I was just admiring with my husband how gorgeous your purple smoothies and popsicles are! I haven’t been much of a smoothie person (call me lazy!) but I’d love to drink it up (I just need someone making for me… just kidding. I need to get healthier, seriously.
