Have you ever attended an olive oil tasting? Whether you are a foodie who likes to cook or likes to eat, if you ever have an opportunity to learn about olive oil, you should jump at it!

With over a dozen olive oil flavors to sample, including other flavors like roasted garlic, jalapeño and hickory smoked olive oil, there are several varieties for you to taste and enjoy.

One trend in the cocktail world is to add an olive oil floater to your cocktails. Oh don’t knock it til you tried it!

Why you should try this recipe

Don’t cringe about adding olive oil to your cocktails. I am not talking about the bland oil you probably cook with. I am talking about enhancing your cocktail with an exquisite extra virgin olive oil

Plain olive oils come in a variety of different flavors depending on the olives used and when they were harvested and pressed. Some have a peppery flavor while others are fruity. You can also use flavored olive oils like lime, lemon, orange or herbs.

These oils press olives with fruit or herbs to extract all the oils. The result is a smooth cocktail with an extra bit of flavor.

Ever heard of finger limes? These little limes are totally hot right now, considered the caviar of citrus. Cut one in half and squeeze out these delicious beads of lime. My kids suck them up straight.

Drop them in your water, top your salad, or garnish your cocktail. They are totally fun to work with and eat. For a little crunch, I also added some mint herb crystals. Oh yeah, this is a real fun drink full of surprises!

Some other cocktails that I have that can be taken as a shot include the B52 cocktail where you get three layers of distinct flavors, and of course, you can learn how to make homemade limoncello, an Italian favorite!
