I love Superbowl parties. I mean, what other time is it okay to sit around the tv, holler and drink and eat junk food with your friends for hours? I know, it’s not the healthiest of activities, but it’s the Superbowl, people!!!

Even if your team didn’t make it to the championship, doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun? So, let’s live it up, every now and then, and not count calories for ONE DAY. We have all week before and after the game to burn off the calories we gorged on during this event!

Why you have to try this recipe

I heard on the radio that the number one food consumed during the big game is chicken wings. If prepared in the broiler or grilled, it’s actually a healthy, protein rich treat. The next two, not so healthy. Pizza comes in second, and my favorite, chips & dip, come in third.

Which brings me to one of favorite dips, this easy 2-ingredient white queso recipe.

My friends and I love to meet up at this fabulous neighborhood Mexican restaurant, Miguel’s Cocina. They bring you chips & salsa, of course, but they also bring you a little bowl of white queso.

Seriously, it’s just not enough for us to share, and we always request more! Everyone wanted me to come up with a recipe for this white queso, and here is my version.

And it’s super easy, too. Just two ingredients, because I’m a simple girl: pepper jack cheese & heavy cream. That’s it, baby. This dip stays creamy and smooth even after it cools down, which is key.

Recipe tips and FAQs

Like the little black dress, you can dress this dip up or keep it low key. Feel free to add more chiles, chorizo or even salsa to the mix.

Just pass the tortilla chips and a cold margarita, and give me the bowl please.
