A Little Bit of News…

Eshkeneh - Persian Onion Soup

Eshkeneh – Persian Onion Soup

It’s not that I don’t love you, but I had to take a little break with the blog. Between my niece’s wedding, my eldest struggling with 4-hours of homework every night since he began middle school and my latest project, things are a bit chaotic in my household! Of course, this seems to be our new norm! But anyway, what’s my news?

It’s not like I didn’t have enough to keep me busy, but with the encouragement of you, my readers, my friends and my family I am writing an e-cookbook. The goal is to first publish electronically, but I am hoping to self publish and offer a print option soon after.

This will be a Perisan cookbook of my Persian recipes as well as family recipes compiled by my aunt, passed down from my grandmother. It certainly has been a labor of love and has taken up more time than I realized when I first started. Many of the recipes have guesstimated measurements that require a bit of testing. The book will be filled with oodles of regional recipes, lots of photographs, as well as stories about my family.

So, enjoy these pictures as a little offering of what’s to come by the end of the year. I promise, things will return to normal here on the blog soon!

This is so AWESOME! Are you doing this on your own? I’ve been wondering if this is the way to go for myself…

Anyway, can’t wait for this cookbook!

  3. Thrilled for you!!

  4. How exciting! From the looks of these picture, it will be gorgeous!

  5. Real life really does cut down on blogging time sometimes. Don’t worry, we all understand and will be waiting for you when you have more time to devote to the blog. In your case, it’s your blog that’s affecting your real life – how cool to write an e-book! Technology is great – it opens up so many possibilities. Your book sounds wonderful – Persian cooking is an under-published area in the US (and I’ll bet in most of the English speaking world). I’ll be looking forward to learning more about the book.

  6. Can’t wait to see what gorgeous photos and recipes you have! This is fantastic news!

  7. So happy for you! Congrats on the cookbook.

  11. I cannot imagine how busy your life would be – three kids (3 sets of homework and activities!), recipe testing, photographing, writing…. on top of your daily routine! You are a supermom, and I know you will do a great job, like you do it here. Just remember to take good care of yourself. We’ll look forward to your e-cookbook. 🙂

  12. This is amazing – I know it will be worth the wait! Congrats!!

    Dear Laura,

I just recently found your website and am enjoying it very much. I’d like to know when the cookbook will be coming out.

    • Thank you for your kind words. I’m so glad you like the blog. I had to put the Persian cookbook on hold because I had an opportunity to co-author an olive oil cookbook, which is now available as an ebook. We are working on getting the olive oil ebook into print and then I can return to my Persian cookbook full time.
